While the number of domestic investors in the stock market increased rapidly during 2020, it crossed the 2 million threshold in January 2021.
According to the data announced by
MKK, domestic investors were recorded as 2 million 236 thousand 892 in the stock market in March. Thus, there was a 5 percent increase in the number of investors compared to the previous month. It has been recorded that 259 thousand 916 people have participated among domestic investors since the beginning of the year.
While the number of
BIST 100 investors rose to 1.6 million in March, it was seen that BIST 30 investors stood at 1.2 million.
It was observed that a significant portion of the investors' portfolio was formed under 10 thousand lira. According to the data announced by MKK, 54.4 percent of investors accounted for less than 10 thousand liras. The weight of investors with an account of 1 million or more is at the level of 1.3 percent.
