Qin Gang's Response to Claims 'China Knew the War' Beforehand

The Chinese Ambassador to Washington, Qin Gang, denied claims that China had prior knowledge of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Ambassador Qin Gang stated that the allegations about China that ‘he had foretold the Russia-Ukraine war and supported the war were not true.’

Qin said, "If China knew about this operation in advance, it would do its best to stop it. For a while, Chinese officials in the country had been making statements that China was not a party to this war. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, "China is not a party to this crisis, and we do not want to be affected by sanctions."

Jen Psaki, spokesperson for the US Department of State, stated that China's supply of military supplies to Russia and its failure to comply with the sanctions imposed on Russia will have consequences for the Beijing administration. At the press conference held at the White House, Psaki made statements that Russia requested military supplies from China.
