Statement About WhatsApp Privacy Policy
WhatsApp made a statement about its privacy policy. The company said, "We will not delete your account."
WhatsApp, the messaging application under the social media company Facebook, posted on May 15, when the update in the privacy policy and terms of service took effect, saying "we cannot see your personal messages" and "we will not delete your account."
WhatsApp made a statement on Twitter for its latest update, which received harsh reaction from its users. In the post, said,"No, we cannot see your personal messages. No, we will not delete your account. Yes, you can accept at any time."
Due to the harsh reactions following its announcement that it would make changes to the privacy policy and terms of service, WhatsApp had to postpone the application it was planned to put into effect on February 8, until May 15 and launch a damage limitation campaign to explain the changes they made to users.
WhatsApp also caused many users in Turkey to seek alternative messaging platforms.
