Texas Wants to Pay With Crypto!
Texas wants to pay with crypto! A new poll has shown that Texans are embracing the cryptocurrency.
According to a new poll by
Newsweek, 10.8 million Texas citizens will support people who make cryptocurrencies their local currency in the next election.
According to the September 20 news report, in a survey of ten US states, 37% of Texas residents said they would support people who want to legalize cryptocurrencies. 42% of respondents say they are ready to adopt cryptocurrencies. Home to around 29 million people as of 2021, Texas appears to have 10 million citizens supporting cryptocurrency adoption.
The results of the survey, conducted by the UK-based firm Redfield & Wilton Strategies between August 20-24, were made before the two cryptocurrency laws enacted in Texas.
Proposals of 1576 and 4474 that went into effect in the state allowed the establishment of a blockchain working group and made it possible to recognize cryptocurrencies under the state's Commercial Code.
Given the state's renewable energy resources and well-regulated electrical infrastructure, Texas is becoming a popular location for cryptocurrency miners. In addition, in June, major supermarket chain H-E-B announced that it will include
cryptocurrency ATMs. This news has some Texas residents hesitant.
A Texas citizen said the following statements on the subject:
"I am uncomfortable with any non-physical currency being the only currency. I am aware that it is actually pursued for the purpose of traceability and taxation. But I feel too old to adapt to it."
