Turkey's Electricity Consumption Declined!
Electricity consumption is reduced in
Turkey. According to April data, electricity consumption decreased by 15.4 percent compared to the previous month.
According to information obtained from data from the
Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the highest electricity consumption in the last month on a daily basis in Turkey, 715 million 345 thousand kWh in April 1, the lowest consumption was seen on 12th April 512 million 842 thousand kWh to.
Electricity consumption realized in April decreased by 15.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and decreased to 19 billion 130 million 574 kWh. Electricity generation fell by 16.3 percent to 19 billion 130 million 35 thousand kWh.
Electricity in the country was obtained from 47.60 percent from hydroelectric power plants, 14.16 percent from domestic coal power plants and 13.79 percent from imported coal power plants.
The share of wind energy in electricity generation was recorded as 10.33 percent, and the share of natural gas power plants as 7.71 percent. The remaining 6.41 percent was obtained from geothermal, solar, fuel-oil and biomass resources.
Increase in Electricity Imports
Turkey's imports of electricity increased by 36 percent in April compared to last year, rose to 163 million 770 thousand kWh. In April last year, 120 million 357 thousand kWh of electricity were imported.
In April, electricity exports decreased by 44 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and decreased to 163 million 231 thousand kWh. In April 2019, this number was 293 million 303 thousand kWh.
However, as of the end of March, the total installed capacity in electricity has reached 91 thousand 371 megawatts.
