During this period of coronavirus fighting, IMF meetings will be held between October 12th and 18th in a virtual environment.
International Monetary Fund (IMF) head Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President David Malpass said developments in the process of coronavirus outbreaks around the world were being closely monitored.
"In view of the ongoing health concerns related to the pandemic, the IMF and World Bank Group administrations propose that the 2020 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, which will take place in the week of 12-18 October, be held in a predominantly virtual format this year," the two said in a joint statement.
"Our goal is to serve our members in the most effective way by ensuring the health and safety of the participants, employees, and residents of The Washington DC area of the Annual Meetings," the statement said.
